|
RECORD PARTICIPATION WITH 93 BOATS REGISTERED AND 90 FINISHING.
TOTAL of 142 PADDLERS from
CT, MA, NH, RI and NY. 29 boats pre-registered by race day. |

2003
|
We had a great race with 92 boats. |

2004 |
Great Race! 96 boats timed for
new record. 144 paddlers enjoyed a fairly high river considering the early
snowmelt. 38 boats pre-registered. |

2005 |
Great Weather, Good
River, Lots of Spectators! |

2006 |
IT ROCKED!! Some said "literally",
most said "Much better water than expected". A dam release raised
the water level by 4" and saved the day. 88 boats started, 84 finished.

at Race HQ
in the Powder Hollow Barn at the Finish by South Maple Street Bridge.
Last pre-start bus to Novice and Race Start Area at 11:05. Don't get left
behind - be early, the bus fills up. Late registrations will start at the
end of the race.
Pre-register on this website to save time on Race Day.

Racing Course: |
5 Miles with 1 mandatory Portage from
Somersville, CT to Powder Hollow Barn in Hazardville. 3 Class II Rapids, including
the popular finish area. Lots of spectators.
Race is a part of New England Canoe
Association Series (NECRA) and the New England Downriver Championship
Point Series.
All kayakers must wear helmet.
Racers 16 and under must wear helmet.

2.5 miles of downriver racing from
Somersville, CT to RT-191 Bridge (Broadbrook Road, Enfield CT). Class I
rapids. |

Footage from the race will be played on large screens in
the barn immediately after the race. |

No alcohol
allowed prior to or during the race.
